What Special Treat or Yummy Did Your Flock Get Today?

I though it would be fun, and interesting to see and hear about what everybody else is giving their flock when it comes to treats and extra 'yummies'.

I try to give them some sort of treat that isnt scratch at least every other day, and I love to try new stuff out as often as possible. But sometimes I run out of ideas, or I run out of whatever was in the fridge. Maybe we can inspire each other (aka- enable

) to give our flocks a more fun, varied diet?!?!

I'll start-

Today my flock got-

A head of romaine lettuce which I tore into little strips so I could enjoy watching them a little bit longer
A big cut up tomato
A handful of BOSS
A handful of meal worms



Yeah, I was kinda popular 'round the coop today..

It's strawberry season here, so they got some and went crazy for them... Tomatos too!
They love mealworms too but don't get them too often.
I gave them some lettuce but they turned their beaks up at it... maybe they will come to like it better with time.

Let's see,

1 regular sized slug
1 GINORMOUS slug
1 GINORMOUS grub
1 worm
...All found while I was picking up the yard.

Also, 4ome corn on the cob and a couple strawberries
 
Today mine had:

2 fried egg sandwiches left over from brunch yesterday
Several handfuls of Swiss Chard out of their garden
BOSS
Some Lamb's Quarter I cleared out of a weedy patch out front
 
We gave our chickens some crooked neck yellow squash and some grass clipping from cutting the yard. They equally enjoyed both!
 
I found a bunch of ripe Nandina berry's and they went nuts over them. I think Blue Berries and grapes are their favorites and they sure are watching the shrubs. They are late this year. Mine are usually done by now but we had a sever winter for the first time in many years
 
Mine got a half head of cabbage, some lettuce, strawberry tips, and potato peels. They love grass clippings they fight to get it out of my hands.
