There Junk. Have a local friend that bought hatching eggs from 8 different breeders off of EBay 2 years ago, Red Goldens and Amherst.
Not a single pure bird in the birds that hatched and colored out this year. All supposedly pure birds from these breeders. More than likely just keepers.

Best not to breed them.
Its better to keep each species of pheasant pure, and avoid buying mixed breed pheasants next time.

Ahhhh....thus will start the controversy over crossing. I prefer trying to keep things pure myself, but to each his own. I will however say that if you do breed them, please do not sell eggs or chicks as pure birds. Unfortunately it happens a lot. I myself bought some amherst chicks one year that when they started coloring out I could tell they were mixed with goldens. Ended up giving them all to my nephew who just wanted some pretty birds with no breeding intentions.

Would they be OK to breed?

I agree with the other. If you breed them, please dont sell them, that's how stuff like what you have there gets spread around. For your own personal use, there's no problem in it, but theses will be a fertile cross, so their offspring will continue to dilute the gene pool if you were to sell them
