Hi everyone,

I know we talked about doing a chicken swap, but I am expanding on this.

Echo Valley Ranch Feed Store has graciously agreed to host a Gold Country Chicken Sale. It will be held on Saturday, June 18th, from 9:00 - 2:00 ish.

Bring your sales/trading birds and join us.

We will allow sale birds, placed in appropriate cages with food/water. Please remember this will be open to the public. It will give you a chance to meet local fellow breeders and advertise your birds for sale.

We will be having a couple of presentation from the Placer County 4-H poultry members. There will be a desert sale and possible a silent auction/raffle, to benefit the Placer County Poultry group by buying more large breed cages for the Gold Country Fair. (I will post as more details come in).

We will do a potluck style lunch. But please do not bring in plug in type food (crock pots etc.) there will be limited plugs available.

If you can come, please let me know what breeds you will be bringing, what you would like to bring for the pot luck and if you can donate for the silent auction/raffle.

I will be promoting this sale to the general public.

Thanks everyone!!

We will be using the main area out front, I know I am bringing a ten x ten tent and misting bottles. I have done it in the summer there before and it worked well. I just misted my birds.

I will put it on my calendar. May have a conflict with a Humane Society fund raiser, I am co-organizer of, waiting on the Sponsor to find out what dates they gave us. Our county is desperate for a new shelter, and we are holding a Splash-Dog, dock-diving event to raise funds for the construction of a new shelter.

Assuming I can come, I will try and bring some started birds, LF Wyandottes, Marans, Australorps. I need to check my hatching schedule, but I can probably set some eggs to have newly hatched chicks too. I have a 12x12 Easy-Up, will there be room for that? Any idea if there is a hose outlet we can use?

Given the distance I have to travel, I can bring chips and salsa. Are the 4-Hers going to sell drinks and dessert?... sorry brain fade.

This is going to be fun!

No problem!! That would be great, yes there should be room for several tents. I will bring a few drinks for the potluck. The 4-H kids will be selling deserts.

Oh and yes, there is a hose outlet!

I hope ya can make it, hopefully it will turn out well! Last time we did this for the 4-H kids to sell birds it worked out pretty well.

Hey dmiraville - are we still on for this event?

Is the date still June 18th?

Can you post the address for me so I can MapQuest it?

Finally, is there a signup sheet for who will be bringing what? Thanks!

You might want to contact Dmiraville on her website. I haven't seen her online in months. I've been thinking about her, as we live up in Gold Country now & I was hoping we could start a thread for us mountainfolk in the "Where am I? Where are you?" section (I still may start one).

This would be a really fun event & I hope it's still going on. I'm gonna go check out her website and see if I have any luck contacting her there.

Hi there,

Yet another one interested in attending. Sure hope it is still a go. It sounds like it will be fun and always nice to meet people from BYC!
