The BVPC will be having a meeting and Lawn show on May 14th in Brenham Tx at Dan Dykes house. We will be sending out an e-mail with all the details to club members but all will be welcome to join us.
We will be discussing the next Bluebonnet Classic ( 1/7/2012) and Club officers and committees.

The main attraction will be the Lawn show, which we will use to help educate people on getting started in showing, what to expect and how to learn about exhibition poultry. We would like for people to enter a few birds in the show so that we can critique them and answer some questions. We are going to limit the show to 100 birds. This will be handled like a real show with the P/T report and entry form, only we will not make it a sanctioned show since we want it to be a laid back learning experiance. I believe we will be having some simple awards for what everyone votes on the winners.
We should have time to work a little on preparing your birds for a show, what we don't cover this time we will work on next time

We are hoping that this will be a great new experiance for everyone. Anyone who has not been to Dan Dykes place will be amazed at how one man can get so much done. It has been the venue for many such gatherings over the years and you wont be disappointed.

I would like to add my apologies to Carla Allen and the Texas Chickenstock group for the conflict on the date. We had decided on this date after the show in La Grange but was waiting to let the infomation out till we had some of the details worked on. I hope that there is enough room on that date for the both of us.

Well poo! I am very sad to have to miss this... it really is too bad it is the same day as ChickenStock

Dan's place is really wonderful... he hosted a field-trip for our 4H group a little while back.

When the Chickenstock thread started to lean toward the May 14th date I tought about saying something but I didn't want to intrude or influence y'alls decision. While I know the two groups over lap somewhat, they are different and I am sure both gatherings will work out great.

Just to let everybody know that we have Steve Jones coming to judge our birds and talk to us about a judges point of view.
Anyone who knows Steve knows that he is a great judge with a lot of breeding experiance. Remember you don't have to be a member to participate, the learning experiance is open to all.
