It seems like behind his ears there's a lot of swelling, I don't know what do to. I have giving him Vitamin E but it's not helping. He holds his head down a lot. Please can someone tell me what's wrong. he's about 3 weeks old, I had him outside but brought him in when I discovered this..

Terramycin and/or antibiotics int ehwater are recommended for sinus infections..... maybe do a cross search and see if this is what is going on with your chick. Good luck, I haven't had this experience myself!

I'm thinking this chicken may have Wry neck. I have another chicken who is doing circles with his head..

Here is a picture of my silkie, as you can see his head is down all the time, to me it looks like he has some swelling but then I was reading about wry neck and I'm wondering if that is what this is..

I don't know, of course, but I had a pullet that looked just the same- her neck got all long and swan like. She couldn't lift it at all.

I gave a half a syring of poly-vit sol without iron twice a day- she fully recovered suddenly after her 5th dose. I kept her on it for a week after that.

Good luck!

I am going to get some today, I was having a hard time finding it but finally found some at Walgreens, I tried walmart and grocier stores but couldn't find it. But today, I was determined to find some somewhere and I did..

everytime I give him Polyvisol, he pecks at it. he won't just drink it, how should I give this chick, some Polyvisol??? he's getting some down when he pecks but I want to be sure he's getting enough. Silly chick.,

Little stinker, why does he have to peck at it, why can't he just take it like a normal baby chick.. ha ha..

your going to waste some but just dribble it along his beak where the mouth opens they will usually drink it that way.. be careful trying to put anything down the throat in case it goes into the lungs then you have a serious problem. also if the chick likes yogurt or applesauce you might put a little of that in the vitamin because the polyvisol tastes terrible.
