I know I've seen many pics in the past where fellow BYC posters used old kids outdoor plastic playhouses as a coop. I need to expand (chicken math struck hard) and I thought about using my daughters old playhouse. I saw pics before when I was researching ideas for my first coop. Anyone out there willing to post their pics of their playhouse coop???

Thanks

I just finished my playground conversion coop, yesterday...

I also posted a "step by step" string on my daily building progress with TONS of detailed Photos!

Check it out!

Nice tractor!

Very smart design!

My only concern is that your plastic mesh my keep the chickens in,
but presents ZERO protection from Ricky Racoon...

Wow, Steadfast. That is above and beyond what I'm capable of. Very impressed. Ravenzero, your second link is what mine looks like. I already have the wire up, but is so airy that I'm wondering about rain getting in from wind blowing it in. I have a nesting box underneath the "folding table" that is seen in that pic for some protection.

I have a broody BO that I'm thinking of putting in there because the other hens keep laying in the box with her and I thought it would give a little add protection to the chicks if and when they hatch (this is my first time with hatching eggs).

I hope to see the insides to some and how any additions were made, if any.

Thanks my fellow BYCers, you never disappoint.

This is our playhouse coop. Made from daughter's playhouse which was originally a wooden shipping crate. She wasn't too happy to hear I had hijacked her playhouse but she wouldn't go in it due to the spiders that had taken up residence in it.

Nice!
Did you put anything on the floor of the playhouse, so the chickens don't slip around too much?
I was thinking of using one of those for a chicken tractor, too.

Oh, on second look, I see those playhouses don't have a plastic bottom. They are bottomless.(I don't have kids lol)
