I have two Ameraucanas - one black, one blue. The brown chicks in the pictures are Welsummers - and they are easy to sex! Please ignore the Wellies - they like to get in the photos.

My questions revolve around these Ameraucanas. I posted at 6 weeks, and it was suggested I post again when they got a bit older. They are now they are 10 weeks old.

1st: Black Ameraucana:

Here he is now at 10 weeks (I am pretty convinced he is a boy - but would be delighted for you to argue with me):

2nd: Lefty, my Blue Ameraucana:

Here she is now at 10 weeks (note the optimistic pronoun):

Both Lefty and the black have more pink in their combs than my same-age Welsummer pullets, but not as much as my Wellie cockerel. Sorry the photos aren't great. I'd love your best guesses.

Thank you all for your review. I am going to stay optimistic. I am hoping against hope that you are right, DSOwen. Thanks for giving me a post to keep dreaming. So long as s/he continues to get along well with my Wellie cockerel, I'll let her/him keep right on developing until there is no doubt.

I would be very pleased if at least the blue gave me some eggs. If they both turn out to be pullets, I will be ecstatic.
