I was lucky enough to witness our first egg. When I let the chickens out this morning
I noticed one of my hens acting a little different. Out of concern I stayed and watched her for a
while to make sure she was fine. Little did I know that she was about to lay her first egg for me.

Checking out the nesting buckets. "This is kind of cozy."

looking at the fake eggs that I placed in the buckets a few weeks earlier. " Looks like someone has already been here."

Inspecting the back of the bucket. "Hmmm, No holes, this might work."

A few minutes later, 1 egg.!!!!!!

I am so excited to finally be getting eggs, then to witness the first one being layed was
a real treat. Just wanted to share, thanks for viewing

Thanks, this is my first time owning chickens so I am a little green on some things.

I knew that they were getting close to laying but was not sure when it would happen.
After a few minutes of watching my hen frantically search for a place to settle down I
thought that she might lay an egg but was not sure.

As I was taking pics I literally watched
her lay our first egg. Not as dramatic as I thought it would be. There was no egg song
she just got up and walked out as if it was not bid deal.

It was great to witness that, kind of like witnessing a birth of kittens or puppies.

Thanks for viewing and sharing in our exciting morning.
