Rest in Peace 1970-2018
Today is day 16 for Sam's quail eggs he sent me. I started with 50.
Out of curiosity I left 25 in the cartons Sam sent me and put 25 in the
regular egg tray. I'm using a Brinsea Octagon 40 at 101.4 degrees air
temp and 99.4 degrees wiggler temp. Humidity started arounf 40 and
I raised it into the 60's for the last hatch.
Here is the start pic:
Here is where I'm at now at day 16 (give or take 12 hours):
Notice the missing eggs? Maybe cause they are here:
So why??? 22 out of 25 eggs that were in the egg carton and upright hatched
while none of the 25 laying on their sides hatched.
Surprise!! In the last 30 minutes 3 of the 25 on the right have hatched.
What is going on here? Is this a case study? Why did the eggs placed upright
in a cardboard tray hatch quicker and with such an amazing rate?????
Cmon you scientists and biologists... Give me some answers.
