It really is a good soup...and easy too since it's a crock pot recipe.
Sauerkraut and Smoked Sausage Soup
4 c chicken broth
1 can cream of mushroom soup
16 oz. can sauerkraut, drain (I used store brand because Franks has sugar in it.)
8 oz. can sliced mushroom, drain
1# ring Hillshire Farms smoked sausage, sliced
2 potatoes, cubed
2 carrots, sliced
1 onion, chopped
2 stalks celery, chopped
1/2 c chopped chicken (I used turkey since I had some leftover in the fridge)
2 Tb. Vinegar (white or cider)
2 Tb. dry dill weed
1/2 tsp black pepper
Place all ingredients, except sour cream and bacon in a crock pot. Cook on low 10-12 hours. Add crusty French bread or sourdough rolls and this makes a hearty meal.
Side note: Picky eaters cant tell its Sauerkraut .
ETA: The original recipe called for adding sour cream and browned bacon right before serving, but we've never used them.

wow, that sounds delicious! adding that to the menu for the week after next! thanks for sharing it...perfect for winter!

ETA: I am a BAMA MAYO person only, I hate to go to resturants and get other MAYO!!! But I am from ALABAMA and you can get it if you come here!! hehehe wonder if bama would work in that cake!!!
