My coop is about 4X6 (just the floor) and is about 5 foot tall at its highest point and 4 at its lowest (the roof slopes and its on legs that are about 1 foot) and I have 6 Red Stars in it.
I hope you arent planning on putting 34 birds in this coop LOL - maybe I'm reading your post wrong
- my 6 Red Stars are all about what fit in my coop and their pen is a 12X12 dog kennel. We made our coop based off of the standard measurements for a heavy breed bird using the sq. foot rule and the nesting box is located on the outside of the coop. I think I could fit maybe 2 more birds in mine but that would be pushing it in all honesty - 8 would be a maximum; 6 is comfortable.
That's a great coop. Nice looking, well made, easy to maintain without stooping, good slant on the roof and a nice coop-to-run ratio. Really nice design.
You got the proportions just right for that style of coop. It looks great. Sturdy and practical. Is there any chance that it will be light enough to wheel around? That would make it perfect for six chickens in a suburban lot. I REALLY like that coop.
I want your work shop. That is the kind of area I can only dream of when I want to make some project work. I am usually working on the grass or on a driveway.
Yep it is pretty conveinent, and really messy... My dad has been out of town except for weekends for about 6 months now, so no one has been cleaning it out.
