Hi! I have a silver (Frances) and gold (Henrietta) wyandotte and three cayuga ducks (Penelope, Ferdinand, and Potassium) who hatched on March 4 and arrived on March 5 from idealpoultry. I live in the city but I've got a big yard. I never knew chickens could be so affectionate. Frances is a cuddle bug!
Now that it's starting to warm up, we're building the coop. My house mate can't wait to get these birds out of his art studio! (They're pretty smelly, doncha know)
I'll be adding valuable information about rat proofing a coop and composting chicken waste in the city just as soon as I figure out how!
I've been lurking on this site for quite a while now and it's been really helpful. I'm glad to finally come out and say hello and thank you to this great community!
