We use 30% shade cloth. It works very well. If you are talking about the netting that you put over fruit to keep the birds from eating it, You may just get a tangled and angry hawk tied up in it.
Check out shade cloth. You may be able to find some in the garden centers of big places like Lowes, otherwise call your local garden center, they may have some scraps that you can buy, or tell you where to find some. It was cheaper and easier than topping the run with wire. (We have a really big run.)
