Arizona Chickens

My flock consists of 2 six month olds, 2 two month olds and 4 one month olds.

I have a big coop that the 2 older girls are in. The plan is that the youg'ns will be in there eventually (obviously) but not until they're older.

4 times in the last week, I've gone outside and the older ones are hanging out with the small ones in the small coop (I leave the doors open while we're home for them to free range)

Here is the small coop, for reference. I started painting, then it started raining

Here is my question:

Is it super strongly discouraged that I add the wee ones to the big coop? I could sell the small coop and I know DH would be THRILLED to get it out of the yard. Are they still just too small?

I'm finding less and less time for BYC. Not enough hours in the day... I come on here, read this thread, read the Ameraucana thread and then look to see if any of the recent posts interest me and away I go. I'll be busier now with the family too because my wife is now in charge of a bunch of young women at church (YW president)

I start collecting eggs for Gretchen tomorrow.

Still crossing my fingers for ADC and gckiddhouse!

Hey did some buddy say my name...I heard it

Yep I will see you on Next Sunday Mahonri....I might get to see Loree too.....

I just hope that next weekend it is nice out..we have rain/snow in the forecast for the next week. It has been light rain/sleet all day today, since last night actually

What day are yours due to hatch?

cluckin_crazy- I love your set up! (and I miss Queen Creek)... I would (personally) wait a few more weeks to integrate all the kids together but that's just me, plus that brooder pen can come in handy for oh-so-many things later on down the road. Plant some bushes in front of it, DH will forget its there....

cluckin_crazy,
Wow, are you sure your hens won't fly over the walls? Mine look the same but jeez Im sure they could if they wanted too~
I think putting them together slowly and carefully is fine as long as both parties are ok with it and the babes have all they need.

Thank-you everyone for the warm welcome!!

I have already found so much useful information here.
I'll have some extra time to get to know everyone here. I'm having knee surgery tomarrow. Just a quick in and out.
I'm looking forward to some down time, life is just to busy. I work two part time jobs. I have a grooming shop here at the house and I do between 6 and 12 dogs a week. I love working from home.

I also work 2 days a week at the Biosphere 2.
The great news is that I'll be home when my eggs hatch next Monday! Come on Chickies

It's too bad you are 3 hours from me. I need to find a new groomer! Called my vet's office and they have a new policy that I don't want to comply with. Too bad. I loved my groomer.

It must be just beautiful where you are. You will have to post a pic of your mountain view!

ETA: Hope your surgery goes well!!

What was the new policy? I'll figure out how to post pictures here shortly.
I'm trying to get the laundry done and a few last chores finished before my first dog this morning.
What kind of dog do you have?
