cabot...i noticed your yellow (or beige) EE doesn't have the greenish legs (at least that's what i THINK when i look at the pic). i have a yellow chick with tufts that i'm assuming is an EE and it doesn't have the greenish legs...but the chipmunk EE do have the greenish legs. is this normal?
 
I get my chicks on thursday!!! It's going to be the longest two days ever!!! Cute pics by the way!

My chicks are going to be sooo cute. I'm getting 5 Black Sex-Links, 3 Easter Eggers, and 2 White Plymouth Rocks!

For telling chicks apart my best recomendation is to look at the McMurray hatchery website. They have great pics of newly hatched chicks in almost every kind you can get from a hatchery. But don't make my mistake- before you go questioning your guesses, COUNT the chicks. I thought for sure I messed something up because I saw 4 that looked like columbian wyandottes , and I only ordered 2.
Turns out they sent me a total of 4 free chicks, and I didn't know it till week 2 when we counted and recounted and kept coming up with 30.
Best part is, the 2 extra columbians turned out to be girls, even though I ordered straight run. So I got 4 girls when I statistically should only have recieved one.
 
my pet chicken shipped yesterday and i am in the one day zone.. 5 pm no chicks.. hope they get here tomorrow.. so much for the express shipping of 35.00! i even went by the post office at 4:30 and yep no chicks...

*sigh* I'm waiting still for my MPC order. I'm expecting them tomorrow at the earliest, but probably thursday. I would just be sooooooooo excited to get them tomorrow. I even went and did my shopping today so I wouldn't have to worry about leaving to go to the store for milk or bread once my babies got here.

I'm getting 3 light brown leghorns, 3 gold laced wyandottes, 3 silver laced wyandottes, and 2 white chochins. Can't wait, can't wait, can't wait......
 
THEY CAME!!!! THEY CAME!!!!!!!! I got a call at work at 12:50! Had given up hope! I'll bet everyone gets there's by tomorrow if I got my in CA in the two day guarentee zone. Good luck you guys that didn't get them today. I'll be looking for your posts tomorrow AM!!!!

All were alive, one little wobble perked right up. Only problem one with crooked toe. Would have been posting pictures, sooner but I have been home alone trying to splint the toe

Brooder Dog Dasher: He LOVES babies! He was so gentle with baby kitties, let them nurse against him, loves the bunny, hopefulle will love the chickens! He is guarding them in the bathroom as I type.
