I think it's a roo and am working on finding a home for him. The other half thinks it might be a pullet and wants to keep. Any thoughts? Bird is 8 weeks. Also, it has very rooish behaviors. Sits on top of house while others are inside napping. alerts, raises hackles etc.

That comb is rather huge and red for an Easter Egger. I'm thinking rooster. The feathers are a bit girly, though.

Pretty bird. I can see why you've had mixed responses, even from your family. The comb really jumps out at you as a rooster. But I can't really see that the saddle feathers are pointy...they looked rounded in the pics, unless they're just not showing up. Do they look kind of pointy in person???

It was sold to me as a sexed Ameraucana, not EE, but I was skeptical. Came from local farm, I picked up at local nursery. It was dark chipmunk as a chick with a black eye mask. Which is why we call it Robin.

And no, the saddle feathers are roundish not very pointy.

If that bird was at my house, he would be labeled roo. Too large and red of a comb at 8 weeks to be female; pointy saddle feathers will just be starting and might not be seen for a couple more weeks as they grow-out.

Robin is handsome
