Woo hoo! I can't believe my wheatons and silvers turned out to be all pullets! Wow, I worried for nothing.

I'll save one of the black girls for you though!

wouldn't it be funny if mine were all pullets too? I'm dying to see yours!

That would be awesome! I'm going on the ameraucana thread now, they said something about row development as a way to tell male from female. I'm assuming the silvers are all female because the combs are tiny and have no pink at all and I know wheaton males have very dark feathers by now (much darker than mine) so I'm pretty sure the wheatons are female too but it can't hurt to have another way to check this.

Well it looks like I will be bringing some Serama Chicks and an incubator of hatching eggs. For some reason I thought my lockdown was on Friday with a Due date of Monday, well I candled last night and one of the Seramas was already in the air cell

, So I ran to the calender and counted the days, turns out they are due on Friday, not Monday! So I locked them down, and already have a pip! This won't be the first time I have traveled with hatching eggs, but this time we are taking the bronco which is a bumpier ride, so wish me luck!

Kelseygirl, I'll be happy to take some of those seramas off your hands!

I really want more seramas!

I'm definitely coming, my mom still isn't sure what she's doing, though it sounds like she's coming along for at least part of the Chickenstock. We're going to leave at around 9 AM and stop quickly at a store on the way to bring some food along! We probably won't be there right at eleven, but probably more like noon.

I think about ten to twelve chicks are coming along with me--two gorgeous serama cockerels who I will only give up to the best of homes because I love these boys, and around ten six-week-old OEGB (both pullets and cockerels) in self blue, blue, black, and spangled. I'm really hoping some of them find homes at Chickenstock--they're cutie pies and I definitely can't keep them all! They'll be for sale or trade for any other breeds I might want. I'll also bring some fertile duck eggs (rouen/swedish mix or pure rouen), guinea eggs, and maybe some serama eggs if I get any between now and then. Please let me know if anyone has special requests and I'll try to bring along what you want!

Of course I'll probably come home with some new birds myself, but that's not the point.

The goal is to come home with less than I came with, so hopefully that will happen.

I'm excited--this is going to be so fun!

Oops, correction! It now looks like 1 of my silvers is a boy. Tiny comb but his coloring is so much more white and black (very pronounced) that I did some more research on-line. Yep the boys have very pronounced silver/white and black color and the girls have silver/black at hackles but brownish mixed in with these colors on their bodies.

Boy, I think...
