Feathered friends adopted me...Breed, age, sex please

How cool to be "adopted" by a flock of chickens! Those sure are cute birds, although they all look like they're wearing Elvis impersonator wigs. "Thank you, thank you very much!"

I love the beetle-green sheen of black feathers in the sun.

Hehe you are right, they do look like wigs...I just love the way they coming running to me when they see me with the mornings menu,, I find myself chatting away to them..especially when I am putting the washing out..instead of a 5 minute job it has become 15
The beetle green sheen is just lovely..I did see a pea comb on one of them and one has tuft like feathers off her cheeks...you just want to pick them up and cuddle them...but oh no they are quick....I hope they will like there new coop..it will be warmer than the trees. Do you think they will go in a coop if they have been used to perching in the trees?

Wow how fortunate for them you moved in. I would show them the food and put it into the coop, give them time to decide its a nice safe place, it may take some time. A good rain may help the process.
