We have been blessed with healthy and beautiful Easter Eggers but one of my roosters is a beautiful purebred Lavendar Ameraucana Rooster from Harry Shaffer lineage whose name is "Sharky". I had so hoped to be able to get him some purebreds Lavendar Ameraucana pullets or hens last year as many of you as I posted WTB after WTB....But since none were available so I didn't want Sharky to get discouraged or any lonelier, so I changed my search for EE eggs And hatched babies that are now laying Hens They have pretty colors and are very interesting. Sharky and the other roosters are doing their jobs!!! The babies that I hatched from Sharkey's pen have been beautiful. Some with heavy lavendar colors and one that looked just lavendar chocolaty. The babies from the other pen have also been so colorful and fun! Unfortunately I posted them on a computer that's crashed have been great and I've sold every chick. So next hatching I must make photos and keep on a disk and here on BYC. There will be eggs from both pens.

Anticipated ship date is March 21 or March 22, if payment is made promptly after the auction ends.

Sharky and his flock:

One of the hens from the other flock:
Sweetie, always goes up to roost after she lays an egg. She has bits of blue/grey blue on her face and feathers and is just a charmer!

Pictures below of sampling of eggs - Flash is stuck "on" on my camera, need to get it repaired so these look lighter than they are in natural light!

The light one is a white leghorn and then a marans is the dark one in this photo

These eggs will ship on March 17, if payment is received by 12 noon EST on March 17

Based on their current laying patterns, you should get ample extra eggs. (One of the groups of the Easter Eggers will soon be turned into my Olive Egger pen later in 2011, so more interesting developments from the farm.)

The shipping is average based on our shipping rates. We ship eggs in the same way we would like to receive them. We bubble wrap each egg separately, putting in a regular box (not an egg carton) which is then cushioned and set in a larger box. These are not the prepaid priority boxes but we use the large boxes that can be ordered through USPS as the standard mailing box. Our mailing costs can often be higher than the prepaid boxes but we find that they arrive in better shape, so it's well worth the extra time, packing materials and shipping costs. Occasionally with a large order, we will use an even larger outside box. After carefully preparing you package we drive your eggs to the Post Office, where our local post office sets the egg shipments to the side to protect them. They are then placed on the truck on the top of all the other boxes! Even as carefully as we ship, we cannot guarantee that there will be no breakage in transit. We do not guarantee the percentage of your hatch as the incubators temperature and humidity are very variable. We will provide assistance to you during the hatch and help in every way possible to have the best hatch possible.

Payment for this auction will need to be through Paypal in order to ship on time!

I have a hatch from this mix hatching right now. These are beautiful babies and the lavender is def. predominant.

Even with shipped eggs I already have 7 hatched and five more pipping-- which is going to be at or near 100% hatch rate. I will get pics up of these darling soon, but my non-chicken loving DH has informed me that we are going to keep these forever!

I really recommend getting these. If I didn't have a waiting line for the incubator I would be buying these right now. AND I will be doing this again in the future-- lavender babies with puffy cheeks are the BEST!

Here's a picture of all the babies hatched in Alaska just recently!!! I see some lavendarish looking ones...Sharky is doing a great job imprinting his young!!!Wow, I still think of the miracles of hatched eggs when I see photos of our babies from our shipped eggs.

Well this auction has gone as high as $30... and you know I do send extra eggs..... I love Sharkey and the other roosters too have a lot of lavendar in them.... I just have never seen such a vital set of roosters! but they are nice, they let me come in their tractors and never are mean to me and the girls are gentle too!!!! I am also getting excellent muffs and beards on all of them!!!

Just think this time next year, the Easter Eggs you don't have to dye!!!!

We have a group of these sitting in the incubator right now--started with a dozen, but we are down to 9 due to 1rst time hatcher incompetence.

As of last night, all 9 were actively and visibly moving around in their shells and I'm turning into a basket case waiting for them to hatch! Wish I could crawl into a shell myself and sit there until hatch day! The eggs are very lovely and I'm going to be so sad if I manage to mess them up before they can hatch!

Corvidae, you will be fine....Pop some popcorn, eat and watch them hatch...Enjoy the miracle...Prayers follow you....Those are precious babies that will be born before your eyes!! I know it!!! 9 is very good....Don't kick yourself, Love and hugs and prayers to you and the babies!!!!

Your Sweetie looks exactly like an Easter Egger that I lost on New Year's Eve. Her name was Blonde, I raised her from a day old chick and she was my little girl's favorite hen. She's the one in the middle of the cluster of chickens in my profile pic. Here she is by herself..

My daughter used to pick her up and carry her around the yard, she still misses her terribly. I didn't have an incubator when Blonde was killed or I'd have tried to raise some of her eggs. I'm hoping that if I win those eggs one of them will look just like Sweetie and Blonde!

I think that would make you all so happy and me too!!!! Pretty little girl you had!!! nancy
