Does anyone know exactly why it says on the label to give to chicks up to 7 days old? Why can't it be used on older chickens? Is it because the antibiotic comes through to the egg and meat? Or is there a different reason?

My egg layers are on Lincomycin S 50 what is the withdrawal period for eggs? I hate to see them go to waste!
