*sigh* I'm loosing my touch. (Warning: Hi-jacked by Em)

Oh dear. Uh how does one go through the process, then?

Now THAT is a great accomplishment. Our golf cart is just about the most bottom-heavy contraption known to man. It's like nigh to impossible to flip that thing over. My uncle *almost* succeeded once, but failed in the end. Dad has rolled a bobcat (the construction equipment variety, not a kitteh) completely over before, and came near to toppling our big tractor when he hit a stump.

But even he can't do squat to the golf cart.

The it's ever gotten to being upside down was one time when we got it going 30 mph down a hill. (I've done 21 on a bicycle going down that same hill. Had a speedometer on it.) Whoever was driving (!!) had the bright idea to make a sharp turn about halfway down. Straight ahead was a particularly steep stretch; 3 feet of ground going almost straight down. We hit it dead sideways. *FWOOMP* Nothing happened.

But seriously, I must ask you something. All the golf carts I've ever seen have had really flimsy roof supports. If you turned your golf cart completely upside down... How come that the sides didn't give way? If they had, you'd probably have been flat.

*Spook stops pacing the floor and glares at Tanichca, stage right

Spook: Take a minute, girl, and explain this Gabe to me. How has he
deceived you so? Why is he the nicest, kindest, funniest, most unique
person you have ever met?

*Spooks moves towards Tanichca

Spook: Have you not listened to a single word the elders have said? Have you
gone deaf? You, barely a sophomore. What of your grades, your education?
There will be time for boys when you have grown. You are so young yet.
You are too young. You are still our little girl.

*Tanichca moves forward, center stage

Tanichca: But Spook...Gabe is not like the other boys I know. (pause) He's special.

*Spook moves to look out window, stage right, turns towards Tanichca

Spook: Why? How? Is he so special that you're willing to throw your life away? For
WHAT? Love? You're only a child. What do you know of love? Of life? You've
barely began...

*Spook once again begins to pace back and forth, Tanichca turns to follow his movements

Spook: Is this because of your sister? She thinks she's grownup enough to be be in love,
to get married. At nineteen. Only nineteen, barely a woman. And did she even ask
your father's permission? And now you, his middle baby...you want to go and break
his heart, telling him you've been holding hands with a boy yourself.

Tanicha: But, Spook...

Spook: Don't 'But Spook" me, Tanichca. Do you think I can be so old that I don't remember
my youth? I know full well the dangers a young man brings.

(a knock on the door, Tanichca glances at Spook, moves to open door)

Spook: I've invited a few of the Elders over this evening, Tanichca. If you won't listen
to me, perhaps you'll listen to them.

*Tanichca opens door, in steps the Elders....Em, Sourland, Taz, MFB (really anyone that
wants to talk her out of this follishness, plus a few stalkers who've just came to watch)

Yes, Spook, I know I am nothing but a child! But I have been head over heels for Gabe since I was 10! Five years is a long time to be keeping it all in. It's not like We'll be kissing or anything (neither of us believe in kissing until one is at least 18) Being friends with him has made me a better person (just ask my friends and family, it's true)
Is no-one on the side of Juliet-Tanichca?

Yes, a golf cart that flops upside down makes the roof all squishy
for sure.

Lifted cart, had oversize tires. At the bottom of the hill, it hit a drainage
ditch, went airborn. I bailed. Cart jumped the road, went on. A really big
drainage ditch by the highway, she went she and over backwards.

Busted her up a bit.

New front body, new roof assembly.

Going back down on regular tires.

Rack and pinion broke inside. Steers funny. New one delivered today.
I'll put it on soon.

After we deal with Tanichca.

And after I get this paperwork done. Quarter ends, have to have this stuff
in the mail in the morning.

Spook...who needs to wear a helmet while golf carting.

*Em sits in recliner and pets her hairless cat while glaring at Tani*

Em: Tani, you cannot possibly understand what you are doing to poor Spook. Just look at him! He hasn't touched his brownies! He is correct. Boys are a dime a dozen. You'll have plenty of them flocking around you after you've graduated, gone through college, done the things you need to get done without the distraction of boys. This one can't possibly be special enough for our dear Tani. Does he even have chickens? Does he? HMMM?
