All Grown Up Now ~ 41 Weeks Old~ New Pics Post 223(01/15/12)~

The gang is 22 weeks old now. Thought it was time for some new pictures. No one is laying yet, though the nests are starting to hold some fascination for a couple of the girls. Rex is crowing--he's up to two syllables now, LOL. I saw him mate the EE, Maretta, yesterday, too. At first Rex didn't want to leave his chillin' out perch, but I coaxed him off with some scratch. He's with Wynette in the first one--it's very cool this morning, about 50 degrees. He's still lanky, but filling out slowly, and very good tempered.

The two Buff Orpington pullets live with the main flock. Gracie is on the sawhorse with Hope down the hill:

Adding a couple, sorry for the graininess of the first one. Camera didn't want to flash for some reason, though it obviously needed it. They were in and out of nests most of the day. No one sat except for the EE, Maretta, but only for a second. She kept doing this little staccato sound in her throat and turning around and around. Eggs must be forthcoming. They'll be 23 weeks Wednesday.

This is Ida, who is the largest. She lost those stray long tail feathers finally and looks nice and round now:

Rex, coming in to see if I will give him some goodies--that boy listens for my footsteps; can't sneak into that coop!
