Recipes ladies?

Do you have the BYC cookbook? I submitted the Butternut Squash Soup and one for Sweet Cajun Beef Stew, both pretty spicy.

Learn to use a bow my dear.....

Rachel are a dead shot with a bow, she just chooses not to buy one that fits since she outgrew her adolescent one. Why can't rifles be allowed now is what I want to know?

I still have a sissy little kid's bow. Shut up. It's got a 24" draw.

I have long arms.

Wow, that takes some nerve for him to do that. What a jerk. When are the cow police coming?

This afternoon sometime. Totally blows my SO's day off. The guy will come up, verify the brand and the owner and then ask bossman what he wants to do. Last night bossman wanted the guy put in jail for life, but I think he'll be a bit more reasonable today. Basically the guy will have to either pay for the calf and he keeps it or bossman keeps the calf and that's the end of it. Although, I doubt bossman will ever lease land to this guy again. He burnt that bridge pretty good!

I should hope not!

Seriously there's no penalty for attempted theft? You get to keep your own livestock and that's it?

Arent there laws in WY regarding legality of shooting rustlers?

but you have to catch them in the act and all that silly nonesense. I think they actually have to be killing or skinning/butchering it as well. Just "mistakenly" branding someone elses calf...not so much. The problem lies that an unbranded cow belongs to whoever can brand it.........bossman needs to brand 2xs a year since we calve year round. HOWEVER, this cow was on our property and was clearly with our cow and the guy was leasing land from us....talk about biting the hand that feeds!

1/2 c barley
1/2 lb beef cut into stew chunks
1 qt stewed tomatoes
1 qt water
3 T mazola chicken boullion
2 small onions rough chopped
1 large beet (I like golden beets)
1 soupbone for flavor

Cook for hours and hours till you can't bear to NOT eat it anymore and the beef melts in your mouth. Remove soupbone before serving of course, unless you're feeding ppl you dont like.

Punkin or Squash soup:

2 cups pumpkin (or squash) puree.
2-4 cups chicken or veggie broth (depending on how thick you like it)
butter
green onions
salt & pepper
sour cream/plain yogurt/heavy cream to taste

Chop onions, sautee in butter. Add broth an pumpkin. Cook on meduim for a bit--until flavors meld into delicious goodness. Add pepper and salt. Add cream if desired.

I usually serve this with a dollop of sour cream in the middle, so people can stir it in. It is a good soup, but the tangy yogurt or sour cream really makes it. Plus the eater can make it swirly!

I think you can also shoot a war party if they circle your wagon.
