My only buff laced pullet started laying 3 weeks ago and has laid an egg every other day since she started! Guess I will put a rooster in with her

I don't have much laying right now either
The B/B/S pen gave me my first green egg last week & have had 3 or 4 more since but have been selling off pairs from that pen. I had way too many so I have been selling black split pairs & hope to get down to a reasonable amount of them. I have one nice Splash pair in there that everyone that comes to buy wants, but they are not going anywhere..........LOL
My Delawares are laying
My Light Sussex are laying
Some of the BCMs are laying
The Buff English Orpingtons are laying (waiting list on them)
& a few assorted others.
My son in back home for now. So hope to get great things done. His girlfriend went back to work & will continue her chemo while working. The radiation will come after the chemo is finished in March. Please continue your prayers for her.
I'm off to get straw & tarps...........

My original OE is laying. I thought maybe a new pullet that is looking red had started laying, but it's Shady. They look almost gray. Hope they get that pretty deep green back.

If no one has looked at the thread about the show lately, Jean (pip&peeps) will be there. I'm so excited. My Lavern is from her eggs and I just love her and her color. I want more just like her.

Sitting here waiting from a call from my mechanic to see if this transmission guy can work on my car. It's been parked since thursday night. Actually very early friday in the wee hours of the night.

I need to get pics of the birds I got yesterday. I had them in a feed bag and when I went to take them out, Maggie Mae had laid an egg for me. The sellers said they were inseperable, so that's what they sold Maggie. Wonder what Silkie x bantam Game will look like. LOL I just loved his color and from where I was sitting I thought Slick was a Cochin. Yep, that's how bad I see. LOL I'm wondering though if I could breed him to a SQ Silkie and breed out that comb. I'd love to have some puffballs that look like him only correct. No matter what else I breed him to I told the sellers he was going to have Maggie with him. I think they felt better about selling them that way. I'm all for the partner for life thing. I may later separate them long enough to find a roo for Maggie though, but I think it's cute how bonded they are.
 
OMG I don't know how they got them, but my neighbor caught 3 kids killing 3 of my birds. He said he called the cops, but he didn't know if they had shown up here. They hadn't! I'm so sick right now. Clyde was one of them. The back smells from the eggs he thought were his and they broke. OMG!!!! I want to beat the @%$ out of them right now! Waiting for the police. Dispatch said she didn't know how long it would take for them to get here. I'm soooooo mad right now. Trying not to swear on here.
 
Wow, who would do such a thing?? I hope that your neighbor will be able to help you in finding the culprits...


About that "show," which show are you talking about? I have been off of BYC and haven't kept up to date.

It was 3 kids that live 2 doors from him. Just talked to a sherif and he was on his way, but called back and said he had to handle a demestic dispute. I told him they're already dead, so go ahead.

These are elementery school kids! I guess their mother is a real ........whatever. So he called when it happened and thought the cops had come over here. They didn't and when he let me know what happened, I called. They want to know if there's evidence. I don't know what happened to the birds. They aren't out there. No feathers. The guy said he heard them. I didn't hear a thing, but it woke him up earlier. He said he tried to go back to sleep, but it wasn't just a little chicken noise. He said he ran out when he saw was what going on. His bedroom window is on the second floor and he says he has a bird's eye view. They picked things up from the alley and they crushed my birds. I also have 3 little pullets that are limping. I think they must have tried to get them too. I'm so sick right now. I hope the little #$^#@#$%$s smell like rotten eggs. Those eggs Clyde was guarding had to be months old. They keep breaking my back gate to the alley and I have it blocked off to good to even get out there, so they had to come over the fence. Those birds were too fat to fly that high. I feel like I'm in a fog right now. I'm so angry and I haven't cried, but I know it's coming. More from being mad than anything.
