So my chicks are about 6 weeks old, maybe 5..i dont remember. Anyway, they have a roos in their coop, but they insist on sitting huddled in the corner, usually on top of each other.

Most of them can fly up to the roost, it may be a tad too high, but they dont go up on their own. If i put 4 of them up there, the other 2 will usually fly up, but they dont go up on their own. If i put them up at night, then they stay there all night, so i think they like it.

What's your hurry? They'll roost when they're ready if they're already exploring it. At their age their breast bone [keel] isn't hardened, it's still cartilage. Being forced to roost too soon can cause a deformed breastbone. Be patient.

interesting....didn't know that.

There is no hurry. Im just concerned because when i check on them at night, i can see 4 of them because the other two are usually under the others.

I put a shorter roost in there for them last night, since they seem to like to be up higher. Since ive been putting them on their roost the last 3 nights, they jump up on the short roost, and then get on the high one.

They were all on it last night on their own.....
