L-R: Mister (white EE/OE mutt), Sir (white and black EE/OE mutt), Eleanor (pygmy goat), and Dude (white-ish EE/OE mutt). Eleanor is pretty much the farm mascot. This is a family farm and everyone loves her. She is spoiled rotten. For months after we first got her, she was unsocial and skittish as can be. It took awhile, but she warmed up and now she's the friendliest, sweetest goat on the planet. She's adorable and hilarious. She holds conversations with you. She lives on the front porch where everyone can access her easily to give her daily treats and visit her. She spends the super coldest days of winter in the spare bathroom, so every time the front door is opened, she walks right in and tries to make herself at home before being booted out. Sadly at the time of posting this photo (7/8/14), she's battling either Listeriosis or Goat Polio and is sickly and a living pincushion. Hopes and prayers that the meds help and she pulls through.

Guy. He's the loner of the 4 Bachelors and is notoriously hard to get a picture of. This is the best I could do. Maybe he's ashamed because he's the ugliest. He's puny, is the only bachelor without a beard, and has a huge, bulbous comb that flops to one side, obstructing most of his view on that side. Yes, he's ugly. But I love him.

Special. No, that's her name. Our first successfully hatched homegrown duckling. Hence the name. This was taken the day she hatched. She's a few weeks old now and about 10x this size. She's huuuuge. I need to get an updated photo. I know who her mommy is just by her size. Our "Daffy" (girl, Silver Appleyard mix) was HUGE as a duckling and is still by far the largest duck we have, so I'm 95% sure Special is her offspring. Daddy unknown.

"The Bachelors" (#1,2,3 and 4). I took these guys off a friend because I wanted some unwanted roosters to "test" free-ranging around here. (This, my grandparents' land, used to be a chicken farm, but I'm a lot more wary than they were and love my chickens). If I lost them to the neighbor/family's dogs, or predators, it wouldn't be a huge loss. They've been free-ranging now (locked up at night) for a few weeks now and are doing well, and I've actually gotten attached to them. #1, the big peachy-tinted EE boy, and head honcho, is my favorite. I'm trying desperately not to name them (although I already have names rolling around in my head for them), in case I do lose them, but it's difficult. They're so handsome and look gorgeous roaming around here. They are very happy birds, as they have over 100 acres to roam (although they stick to about 1 right around the house..), grass and bugs galore, ponds, the horse pasture (*cough*manure) to pick through, and are put safely away at night. They are all EE mutts, I believe. #1,2 and 3 have full muffs, but what look to be single combs whose tips have been lost to frostbite. #4 (right front, leaning down) is a puny guy with a pathetically picked tail, no muff, and a funky, huge, lop-sided comb.
