"Henny Penny" (because everyone needs one hen called that, right?) - EE hen. She's also very photogenic and vain. Her and Dixie (barred rock) are at the top of the pecking order. They were both "the chicks that started it all". Picked them up as chicks from the feed store (because "Hey, we already have ducks, might as well get some chickens, too" Harharhar...), and they stirred up an addiction in me.

"Daffy" - mutt hen. You can't really see here, but Rebecca is standing behind her. Rebecca is a pure Silver Appleyard hen. Daffy...is a mystery. Now that she's grown, her coloring is exactly the same as Rebecca's, except for her head which is dark while Rebecca's is white (typical of Appleyard hens), so she must have Appleyard in her somewhere. But when Daffy was a baby, she was solid BLACK, save for a white ring around her neck, hence her name..she was the spitting image of Daffy Duck. Then when she was growing, her head turned bright green like a drake duck. She's a strange one, indeed.
