i have pheasants that hang out with chickens like one of the gang adds another layer of diversity to my herd
chickens of course guinea hens ducks pheasants junglefowl and quail all flocking around the yard
I brooded mine with chicks and turkey poults but they are smaller and thinner then the rest of the flock. They just stalk the fence line looking for a way out. The other birds have learned the stay in the pasture. There is a hot wire at the bottom of my livestock fencing. The pheasants hit it but it doesn’t discourage them. They don’t care about leaving the flock. They are preoccupied with escaping. I have only 3 left , so I had to build them a escape proof pen. It’s a shame because now they pace all day.
