An antibiotic called Tylan 50, easily obtained form TSC, is the best one to use in this situation. No need to inject it, but you will need a needle syringe to get the medicine out of the vial. The dose will be .25ml for small chickens, .5 ml for adult size birds.
By the way, layer feed is only for those hens in full lay.
