    Chest feels puffy... filled with fluid???

    I went out to check the girls water to make sure it was not frozen..it was not. My black maran was very quiet. I picked her up and her chest is all puffy, feels like it is full of fluid.. She is not well!!! very lethargic, fell over when I put her down. Our coop is well ventilated no frost...

    Today's temperature = # of eggs.

    Today the temp was -32 with wind chill. I have 6 chickens and today I collected 6 eggs. 3 Ameracuana and 3 speckled sussex... They seem to love the cold. They are in and out of the coop all day.

    My hens have not started laying.....what the heck am I doing wrong.

    ok.... I'll try to be patient.... It's so hard. My kids go out every evening to search the boxes for eggs. As they say patience is a virtue. LOL

    My hens have not started laying.....what the heck am I doing wrong.

    Hi, I have 3 Amerucana hens and 3 speckled Sussex hens. They are all 21 weeks old and none of them are laying. Am I doing something wrong? I switched them from a growth mix to a lay mash at 18 wks. Am I just being impatient??? Any advice would be appeciated. Katie- Barrie, Ontario, Canada.

    I am TOTALLY new to raising chickens... I was given some chicks and have no idea what breed or sex t

    My friend thought she would get some chickens.... unfortunately she did not check the bylaws and after getting the chickens she was told by her neighbour that it was illegal to keep chickens in the city. I have ended up with the chickens and have no idea what breed or sex they are... Any help...
