We hatched a friends eggs with only success with one- and now I am not sure of that. This chick looks to be blind- his eyes are very dark and they are a bit bulgy. Within the last couple of days, they have been gooed shut. I have moistened them with a warm water and it works for a time- but I...
Last spring we incubated using the dry method and it was a huge success. I am hatching eggs for a friend and one has hatched on the 21st day- Sunday- and there have been no more pipping or sounds from inside the foam, fanned incubator. I have the one chick in a brooder box with a small stuffy to...

She wasnt behaving differently at first, but she is now- yes huddling in the corner, peeping most of the time, not being bullied from what i can see, sleeps most of the time- although, when I dip her beak in the vitamin water, she really resists... and really squawks! Not puffed up-...
I have a new chick that hatched out Sunday- so it is 4 days old- and she doesnt seem to be growing like the others. I have tipped her beak into the water, tried feeding her grool and plain yogurt, but I have yet to see her eat on her own like the others do. She is so much smaller than the rest...
I have a batch of chicks that have just hatched and noticed when I moved some to a brooder box that one of the chicks has 2 bulbous forms on its backside- Will this hurt the chicken as it grows? or will is minimize~

We have tried twice to hatch- 2 out of 12 hatched the first time and zero hatched the second time- but I just read a great article on dry incubation... and now I realize we had too much moisture in the lock down- and the external humidity and downpour rains did affect our hatching...

This is our second time trying to hatch chicks from our own eggs- and I have to wonder what goes wrong from the second candling to hatching.... any help? Trying to attach pics....
One thing I thought of was that during the lockdown- we were having a ton of rain and the humidity in our incubator...
Thank you Candace- We have hatched one batch before this but the temp was 101-101.5 . This time it has stayed at 99.5- constant- so I was wondering if that may have had something to do with it- Also, we have had nothing but rain here for almost 10 days so maybe the outside humidity would affect...
This is a hatching question- I have 12 eggs that were supposed to hatch this past Sunday- nothing as of yet- no peeps- but I candled 3 and was sure I saw movement within. How long can the eggs stay in the incubator? It seems as though the chicks are plenty happy hanging out... and not wanting to...
