Hello all, I have been incubating and hatching Corturnix and Bobwhite quail for a few years now, however this batch of eggs I have never encountered this issue before. My eggs were supposed to have hatched 2 days ago. I put them in on July 1st and it is now July 25. They chicks are peeping and I...

    Quails

my incubator has a plastic mesh floor it does have small square holes but the day I take the rack out I put down paper towels so their feet do not go through. I do not believe they are imbred, I get all my eggs from a licensed breeder. He said he thought they could just be hatching too early...

Y yes, a little more. I left them all in incubator about 8 hours after hatching to make sure they were good and dry. I don't understand why I'm getting 1 out of every hatch like this.

Hey everyone, I have been incubating Coturnix quail. I hatched 3rd batch 4 weeks ago so decided to try my hand at hatching Bobwhite quail. Yesterday I had 13 out of 18 hatch. My only concern is, out of all my hatches I always have one that their poor legs just aren't strong. The toes curl...

    Quails

thank you Binki. I have to reup on feed this weekend, I will definitely be looking for a higher protein. I noticed however, I use same kind of starter but each bag I buy is different % in protein. One was 18%, one was 20% and had one 21%. I found that weird.

    Quails

I'm feeding them a 18% protein chick starter and a scratch feed that has laying mash, cracked whole wheat, sunflower, flint corn, and soy bean oil. So, should I change up the scratch feed with some that has no corn? I did not know that about corn. Thank you so much for that info.

    Not thinking

Hello all. Well, I put more quail eggs in incubator. However, I wasn't thinking when I did. I have 9 bob white quail eggs and 16 Coturnix quail eggs. I put them all in same day.
