Pictures! they are all from the same lot, nearly three months old..
Am quite sure the two in the first pic are roos and the one in second pic as well...
My leghorns will be three months soon, 4 out of 9 have orangish red combs and wattles starting to show as well. I spotted two of them fly at each other and sort of bang the beaks together mid air, i guess they must roosters, right? They were also standing facing each other before flying!
One of...
funny you posted this, but i have had this feeling that my leghorns (would be three months soon) have become pretty quiet, earlier they just wouldn't stop!
Hi Mary, I am in Delhi, India! yeah i too felt its leg didn't look too good. We called a vet, but he had called it a day and asked us to give it some painkiller and to bring it over the next day, but then a neighbour came knocking and said his pigeon was on our terrace, we thought he was...
We found this beautiful injured pigeon on our terrace, he's hardly moving, when he does he sort of hobbles, not able to fly or walk. Starts shaking sometimes, the leg is perhaps broken. Please see the pictures,
He's drinking water and eating pearl millets we've put in front of him.
Please...
he didn't make it. I don't have access meant there is so such store here. Neither chick feed nor meds, I tried asking some chemists if they had any other drug with the same chemical but no one did. i usually feed them what they seem to enjoy. The others look fine.
Around 15 years back my mother...
i don't have access to these meds. he didn't eat anything the whole day. tho we did manage to dip his beak in an ACV solution, and he sort if sipped. but he looks so sad and weak and we felt best to leave him alone. I don't know if he will make it through the night.
my two month chick is very very ill. He's had droopy wings for more than a week now, last week he and one other had been aloof and not interested in food, but they got much better, in fact almost normal except for the droopy wings.
Now yesterday he didn't seem interested in food early in the...
The kind that come in small balls and you have to soak it in water before mixing in food. The package says 50% protein. I gave my chickens some today, dry and broken into small pieces, they ate it all up, but thought to ask to be on the safe side.
Thanks,
I do believe the soil has enough rocks. I sometimes work it up with a pitch fork, they seem to enjoy finding whatever they do in it! I didn't know they could be fed meat. Raw?
Planning to feed them corn today, they enjoy it. There are no stores around here but I will try to find some solution...
Hi Erica,
Thanks so much for your reply, I included onions from occasionally to twice a day after one of them died! We mix it with ACV and garlic. The ill ones seemed to get better and they ate it enthusiastically. so we continued with it. They really love greens, so we give them spinach...
hi shannon, thanks for the reply. the one who died this morning had been perfectly normal apart from the yellow comb. and yesterday he started showing a disinterest in food and a slightly swollen comb. His feathers had been nice and smooth. I don't understand why some still have yellow combs...
