We do have harsh winters up here and I have to agree with you on the wind.... I like the Salcha area. Hardly any wind. But when its summer time it makes up for the long winters. :)
The temp is rising today.... up from -20 to -3 YAY!! Its supposed to be above zero tomorrow and ill be able to take the ducks out and clean the coop fully. So glad for that. The bad part of winter wont be until January and February, March will still be a bit crappy but April will start to warm...
My hen is a 'night layer' I went out at 3 am and the egg was cold to the touch but not frozen. I think she is starting to lay past 10:00 pm but before midnight.
