I do not think that that is a coturnix as I own them and they have no head feathers. I may be wrong (I frequently am) but that is my belief.

I was just wondering how quail do in the cold. - What is the coldest weather they can live in? - What kind of quail do best in the cold? (I own Coturnix) - What do you do for them in the winter? - Also were do you all get your quail eggs? I live on a small island in Alaska so we have no pet...

No I am not but I know the owner. They offered to pay for the damage. i don't know if i will get more quail. We found some feathers from the lost one last night so I only have one left and he is freaking out.

Thanks so much... The dog also killed 3 of my quail and of the 2 left only one was found. It is a male so will he call her back (he is really loud)

This morning at about 4 a dog got in to my duck coop and 1 of my 4 ducks is wounded. The feathers are missing from its neck and chest it is raw in some places and bleeding a little. She is still in shock but I had her in the bath tub with a tiny bit of water and she laid an egg. I now have her...
