    I give them a feed with 16% minimum layer feed, treat every other day with soldier fly larvae, and give them left over pork roast, chicken, and hamburger from the kitchen. Is there more I need to do for protein?

    For people who use sand in their chicken run, what is your go-to tool for cleaning the poop? I got a small rake, but the poop is small and goes through the spaces between the tines. Thanks!

    The way the tail feathers stick up and the feathers around the neck are more pointy instead of rounded at the ends. I had read somewhere that was an indication of a rooster, but maybe it was breed specific. I don't remember.

    This is the cutest thing, and I just had to share. The little chick on the right in the picture is our resident "housekeeper". I have seen her multiple times cleaning out the waterer when any shavings would get in it. Earlier today, as the chicks were going crazy scratching near the waterer...
