Unsure if one of our Rhode Island Reds is a rooster?

Oh this wasn’t the original chicken we were questioning haha this is a different one. As they got older my RIR got more hen-like and this Easter Egger became more roo-like.

Unsure if one of our Rhode Island Reds is a rooster?

She was just a tomboy. Haven’t gotten any eggs yet, but they’re all still a bit young. We put the little ones in with the older ones about a week later and they were okay. Our silkie is still very tiny but stands up for herself well and nobody picks on her. She’s unbelievably friendly towards...

What on earth are they doing?

Totally! There’s a specific one (sometimes two) that ALWAYS greets me at the door when I come over, no matter what, and she was right in the middle of the little pile having a great time ignoring me lol:love

What on earth are they doing?

It is inside their run! That makes sense, a few of them have individually burrowed into the ground the past few days but today they were all doing it We’re working on a good fence to keep the dogs out of the side yard right now. It should be done tomorrow and they’ll have a lot more room to roam...

https://www.reddit.com/r/BackYardChickens/comments/awn5je/what_on_earth_are_my_dinguses_doing_the_other/?st=JSS1Y83X&sh=99739116 It’s about 3pm and 70° here. Not really sure what they’re doing... someone on reddit said they’re trying to give themselves a dust bath.. should I give them something...

Unsure if one of our Rhode Island Reds is a rooster?

We separated them. The bigger chick stopped pecking at them (but would still occasionally charge and scare the littles) after I sat there and would hold her down to the ground when she’d go after them. I have a baby monitor in the cage to keep an eye on them without them knowing I am so I could...

Unsure if one of our Rhode Island Reds is a rooster?

Here’s the mystery bird as of this week. We put our babies (2 weeks) in with the two older ones (6 weeks or so) and I’m so scared because the one I’ve been questioning keeps chasing and pecking at our little silkie. I have grabbed her mid chase and held her to the ground for a few minutes to...

Unsure if one of our Rhode Island Reds is a rooster?

Lol I know the black one is a barred rock. The picture I tried to attach of the other (similar) bird didn’t show up. Here’s the other one we were told was a rhode island red

Unsure if one of our Rhode Island Reds is a rooster?

I’ll ask the store to find out what kinds they got the week we bought them tomorrow. And I’ll definitely update you with more pictures in a few weeks!

Unsure if one of our Rhode Island Reds is a rooster?

Well shoot. Super new to this and the guy at the stock shop didn’t really seem to know much about them either anyone have any idea of what kind of chicken she is? Lol the other one must just be growing a little slower. She’s not as feisty as the one I was questioning

Unsure if one of our Rhode Island Reds is a rooster?

One of our approx. 5 week old Rhode Island reds is quite a bit larger than the other and I’m a little concerned she may be a rooster.. (maybe the other one is just growing slower as she’s had a sneeze since week 3) She’s gotten so big in the past week and a half and her comb is much larger than...
