    Well said! And this is also why Olive Eggers and chocolate/ true blue layers should come from reputable breeders if you’re worried about quality. They are bred for quality by selective breeding. Some people do not care one way or another. I personally do, because genetics fascinate me ♥️

    I didn’t say marans were the only brown layers to produce Olive Eggers, simply just used them as examples because they are homozygous brown carriers. Easter eggers aren’t guaranteed to produce blue eggs. But a cream legbar or amerecauna are guaranteed because they are pure bred with no crosses...

    It’s genetics. I explained and it makes perfect sense lol. If you can’t make sense of genetics from my explanation i also posted a link. Feel free to do your own research but the link I posted explains very well I think. I agree with all the egger names getting out of hand.

    Whatever eggs you have will be fine! If the ones hatched are dried off I would go ahead and remove them and put in the brooder.

    Ohhh look at that Sweet baby!! From what I can tell it looks like that’s just membrane that stuck to the shell. I would offer that one a little yolk as soon as it’s ready to eat something just bc it struggled a little more.
