Morning, all! Couple of questions. We discovered a pecking Issue with a couple of hens and dealt with it, however, the 2 that were getting picked on continue to sleep in one of the laying boxes (pile on top of each other) since the 2 known bullies were culled. The egg laying has come to a...
Good morning!
I have chicks that are almost 5 weeks old. They are about to make their maiden voyage to the coop this next week, but I've noticed that they are wasting a majority of their food. We have the basic hanging feeder with slots but it's not hanging, it's just sitting on some bricks...
I'm sad to say that we ended up euthanizing the poor chicken. It seemed the right thing to do, as she just wasn't getting any better and she appeared to be pretty miserable. Epsom salt bath didn't work, plenty of sunshine and electrolytes didn't work, yogurt eliminated the green diarrhea, but...
Thank you for the tip! We ended up taking her back to the vet. She had a pocket that had not been lanced so they opened it up and drained it. Now we are being super careful about not letting it close back up immediately.

I just checked her vent and she is not egg bound. Looks like the down below her vent is dirty but I see no evidence of diarrhea in the kennel. It does not look like she is eating or drinking, but I could not be certain.
Will she take to eating eggs out of the coop if I feed her scrambled eggs?
I'd keep her with the others but I'm concerned she might be ill.
I appreciate the help. Thank you both.
