    Noisy hens! Is that normal?

    It is normal for some chickens. I know a few coops in my town where you almost never hear the hens making noises, but in other places around town you can hear chickens blocks from their coop...such as mine. We have a large park behind our house and I can hear my chickens at the very other side...

    Cracked eggs?!

    I cut a bit of cardboard to fit the bottom of the nest box when no matter how much nesting material or what kind it always got scratched away. So far it works great.

    I don't think she is broody. She lets me pull eggs out from under her and she stays out when I pick her up and put her out.
