Hoping these upload. We are at about day 14. Since I last posted, she has laid 2 more eggs. Do these look viable? I tried to look at the chart but am totally lost. I have more pictures if needed.
Just came in from candling. One looks like it is much further along than the other 7. Add to the fact, there was an egg out in the fence area, not the nest. Momma is not sitting consistently. What do I do?
Sable layed 2 more eggs. The count down is on. She isn't setting consistently yet but hoping as we get closer she will. If I am right, may see babies in about 3 weeks. Eeee!
I finally got a count yesterday. She is setting 8 eggs. She is on day 3 of pretty continuous setting. I am hoping to attempt candling this weekend if she will let me. It has been kinda cool and rainy here in VA this week. I'll post a picture of her later if possible.
I am so excited to have found this thread and see that it is still active.
My Sable Duck has been laying for a while but I had been taking them as she was not laying in the nest. Any she did lay there, she soon booted so I am guessing they were not fertilized eggs. We recently enlarged their...
I think I am going to die from cuteness overload!!!
I am really thinking my drakes have not matured enough to fertilize eggies for me yet. Sable keeps pushing the eggs out of the nest and is not at all appearing to be broody. We are up to 4 eggs right now. Hoping soon we will have some...
WOW! They are gorgeous! Other than a little green, mine are all black & white. Sable has the most green followed by Sampson.
Thanks so much for sharing!
I have 4 Ancona

Drakes:
Samson

We had another female Sadie but a fox got her.
I have 10 eggs incubating but not sure if they were fertilized. This has some great name ideas!
Would love to see pics of your precious ducklings. I have Anconas that are nearly a year old. Sable (my female) has been laying eggs but it looks like my drakes are not yet fertilizing. Nor is she broody. I keep hoping that soon she will start to sit on her eggs (I have been taking them up...
Last night was our second trip to TSC this week and of course I had to look at the baby peepers. There was one little duckling that was dying. I told the guy working there and he said oh, I'll take care of it later. I wanted to hold the precious baby in its last moments but couldn't. I was...
Not hey. These are her first eggs. The first 3 I have in my friends incubator. I have 4 that I will be taking tomorrow as it is supposed to be really cold on Wednesday.
