Can YOU post a pic of your quail belgian antwerp's eggs?

Thanks for the info on laying, btw! I've been told several different things on what to expect but I'm not sure if she's from a hatchery line or not. Got her locally from a breeder so probably not. She's an amazingly smart and interesting bird. She's our favorite so she's here whether she...

It is one of my golden comets. She's done this before but I get 2-3 eggs everyday so I think she only does it when the egg is interesting for some reason. Then, if it is weak, she gets to eat it. If not, she gives up. :/

I might have gotten an egg from her yesterday! I was told they are only seasonal layers, though, so I'm not sure it is her or a fluke egg without dye. It had been pecked at (JOY!) so only some of the shell was left so I can't be sure about the size. Waiting impatiently for another egg! HAHA!

Awesome! Thank you, ladies! She's 25 weeks so I'm expecting eggs any day now. I have a barred rock and 3 golden comets, as well. One of my eggs is smaller than the others but it is about full size for a bantam and I'm expecting quarter size when she first starts laying, right? This egg looks...

I have a 25 weeker, no signs of squatting. So, I'm wondering what color egg I should be expecting. : ) You know, antsy and excited and impatient so I'm curious what eggs to expect from her breed.

    Bully chicken- seriously evil

I had one comet that was beating up on my other comets. When I put them in with the rest of my flock, my roo beat her up pretty badly. Pulled her out to heal for a few weeks and though she migrated to the rest of her comet family, they put her on bottom. She is now the very bottom of the...

Coturnix egg coloring and male to female hatching?

I'm scared that will be the case. The breeder will be the one hatching them (I'm not ready for incubating and such.). I'll be there to pick them up by day 3, I hope. I MAY keep A male but I won't be hatching and there's no way of knowing if these will be siblings (20ish different lines and...

    Interesting link! Thanks!

    Constipated chick

For chicks, a small splash until I feel like they've had time to get accustomed to it. ACV is very healthy but in a high enough concentration on gentle skin (like a chick or baby would have) it can do some real damage. Once they're older, I relax and just pour some. Try drinking it in a glass...

Coturnix egg coloring and male to female hatching?

With chickens, it is pretty easy to know what color eggs the hens will lay by breed. Is there any way with coturnix to know what colors the hens will lay? Also, do more males hatch than females? Thanks!

Mites, roaches, random bugs despite a ton of DE everywhere.

You know those people who seem to be plagued by Murphy's Law? Apparently, I got a good dose of whatever that crap is. My chickens are BABIED. I do everything I read that I can do as far as natural things to keep them healthy, happy, etc. Yet, since spring arrived, it has been one thing after...

    Culled sick bird remains?

What does one do with a sick bird's remains when they've been culled? I know if I had land then burning the remains would be a possibility but I live in suburbia with nosey, nosey neighbors.

Treating for gleet, possible secondary infection. Duramycin?

Pretty much as stated, my hen has symptoms of gleet. I've been giving her garlic and ACV in her water, yogurt, epsom baths for about 20 minutes when I can (I have 3 little ones so not every day, which is crappy, I know.), and she's not looking better. I've been spraying her vent with iodine...
