    Ok, what is she?

Ya, she is pretty. I picked her out of the bunch because she was the only speckly brown one there. So, seems the majority vote goes to EE. Does that mean she will lay bluish eggs? That'd be pretty cool. Thanks for the replies everyone. Also, do EE's act kind of bossy on average? She...

    Ok, what is she?

Ok, so as you all know I am a chicken n00b. I originally thought Estelle was a Golden Campine - but now I realize that she is developing features that are not Campine like. She's getting too big for one. Her face is hawkish almost and her comb is still really small. Can anyone give me some...

This is soooooooo funny. XD XD XD POOR TWIGGY! He/she is STILL undefined - but yeah still has baby feathers even at 11 weeks. I'm going to keep him/her either way tho. Thanks for the info on feed. When to start feeding oyster shell? They free range for about 12 hours a day, so no need...

UPDATED!! Does He have SADDLE FEATHERS?!?! (pic heavy)

He/she seems to be a bit different-looking than the others. But he/she doesn't act like a rooster either- not flighty but not bold either. Dunno. This is so funny. XD Oh and one ques- probably in the wrong forum but the guy at the feed store said I should continue to feed them...

UPDATED!! Does He have SADDLE FEATHERS?!?! (pic heavy)

Yeah. So far no one I've asked can gimme a definite. XD Poor Twiggy. Just seems like he/she is growing and feathering out so much more slowly than the others. And his/her comb and wattle started getting pink kind of early too... No crowing by any of them yet. Time will tell I guess.

UPDATED!! Does He have SADDLE FEATHERS?!?! (pic heavy)

So I am at about 12 weeks into Operation Chicken Eggs and I am about 90% convinced that I actually have all pullets. Please disregard the date on these pictures, my camera reset itself. These were taken earlier today 09/28/10. If any of you would be so kind as to humor me once again....can I...

    Whart Breeds Have I Got??

Yeah the picture is there, but the actual chickens are very difficult to make out. Maybe try and get one inside the run so we have an unobstructed view...? I could maybe take a guess that the black one is an Australorp? The speckled one looks like a Barred rock from here...but it really is...

I am still here! :D New pics(lots of em)!

Yeah, I can't tell either. He/she is just feathering SO much more slowly than the others, and he/she just seems to carry itself in a different way as well. Ah well, time will tell I guess. I may keep him/her regardless. I hear a rooster is good for a flock of hens, just as long as the others...

I am still here! :D New pics(lots of em)!

HAI AGAIN! So my girls are approximately 10 weeks old now, except for the yellowish one. He/she is maybe a week younger than the rest. A few of you thought I had 1-2 perhaps roosters and the rest hens. Pls, opinions now at 10 weeks? Much appreciated. kthnxbai. -- group shot from...

When to move the chickens into the coop?

Hello again. Yeah, it's me. I'm very sorry if I posted this question in the wrong forum...if so, please do move it to the correct location. When is the best time to move pullets into the coop to live outside? Mine are about 4-5 weeks old and have most of their feathers. The weather here...

    Coop design. Pic heavy :>

Thanks for all the replies. I've been out there considering what I can possibly do to extend the coop space... For now, I may just pick up a couple of large dog runs and hook them together....or I could just assemble a larger pen. But for the time being I think they coop is adequate for...
