SHE LAID!!!! Woo hoo, Tikka actually laid an egg today!
It's very small, and a bit bumpy and odd coloured, but it's an egg and it's her first.
So proud of my girl *squee*
She doesn't squat no. Most of the time she just runs away LOL
They are free-range, but we have a small yard so I don't know where she could possibly be laying if it's not where the others have laid.
We won't give up on her just yet, she may come good and surprise us all! :D
I have a hen, Tikka Masala, I have no idea what breed she is... sex linked, isa brown or something. I have no idea. (Included a pic)
She's about 5 months old now, and has NEVER laid an egg. Our other chickens, one who I know to be within 2 weeks of age of Tikka, has laid an egg every day for...
That is one cool looking chicken!!
Loving her afro :D
Doomy had a LOT of red in his feathers, much more than the photo shows. Guinness was adopted at a later date than Doomy so I don't actually know how old she is because she was hatched at a different day care centre (school hatchery program).
This is Doomageddon our Roo that we recently rehomed, he had a fair bit of that green in his feathers.
I hope you guys are right about Guinness being a hen. Kids will be DEVO if we have to rehome two!!!!
PLEASE help!
We are in desperate need to rehome our hybrid rooster.
Tortilla is a friendly young roo approximately 15weeks old. He was 2IC but we rehomed the dominant rooster and now he's taken up the mantle of crowing (badly) at 4am. We live in the 'burbs and CANNOT keep him. *sad* We have...
Yes that's him :(
After further examination I think Guinness - our other black australorp hybrid is a roo too.
So disillusioned with this stupid school hatchery program.
Hi Guys!!
So I'm new to chickens, we adopted our 4 from a hatchery programs through my daughter's day care centre.
We ended up with 3 hens and 1 rooster. The roo started crowing last week and we managed to rehome him 2 days ago. So he was here crowing his little head off for 5 days. They are...
