    Aggressive Drake

Thank you! The chicken run is currently empty so I will move him into there until the ducklings are older and see if he will play nice.

    Aggressive Drake

Looking for some feedback on how to deal with an aggressive drake. I have one drake and four female ducks (three females of breeding age) A couple of my ducks went broody and just hatched some ducklings within the past couple days. The drake is very aggressive with the ducklings, pecking...

Small Bantam flock to good home

I have not tamed them, he did ok with the other bantam rooster we had. A few squabbles now and then. He’s a little high spirited due to the breed.

Small Bantam flock to good home

I am about 3 1/2 hours away, I’d be happy to meet you half way if need be. Are you interested in the whole flock? I’d rather not have to cull the little rooster.

Small Bantam flock to good home

I have a small flock of five bantams that I need to re-home. Flock consists of a Serama rooster and hen and three Porcelain D’Uccle hens. Good layers, we get 3-4 eggs a day. We live in SE Washington, Walla Walla county.

Roo ate all the grit, impacted crop?

Thank you! Yes I will keep an eye on his crop and switch out his diet for a few days. Not sure on his poop, I’ll have to check on that in the morning.

Roo ate all the grit, impacted crop?

I'll have to check the feed bag when I get home tonight, it's a new brand that was offered at the feed store, not my usual Purina. I am curious though, if the feed was low in protein wouldn't more than one chicken have health problems? I do have some items in the freezer that's past prime. I...

Roo ate all the grit, impacted crop?

That’s good advice that I hadn’t thought of. I think we just started a new bag and I didn’t keep the last one. But I will check this bags mill date. Do you have any suggestions on increasing protein? Can I supplement with mealworms and scrambled eggs?

Roo ate all the grit, impacted crop?

Update... Rocky the Roo is doing much better! his crop is back to normal size although it feels hot to the touch (I suspect sour crop, or maybe all that gravel caused some inflammation). I'll keep an eye on him and take him to the Vet if the heat doesn't go away. I'm hoping that the grit...

Roo ate all the grit, impacted crop?

I was worried about the grit being too much for his gizzard. I will do what I can for him and try to talk the hubby into talking him to the vet.
