    Mahonri's 3rd Annual, BYC Easter Hatch-a-long!

We set at 4pm Saturday and I woke up this morning and #1 egg has pipped. I thought it a cool coincidence that the one I had labeled #1 was first to pip. Just to throw something at y'all. I don't know but... These early hatches and such could be due to the waxing to full moon. On the other...

Good morning all, Is there a checklist of things to do for lock down? This is our first hatch and I've been following the Brinsea instruction book but there are a few details I'm not sure on: I've been using tissue paper to take up the extra space left by the eggs we took out that haven't...

Announcement April Fools 2012 - New Forums / Sections - Exotic Backyard Animals

This could bring some much needed awareness to the exotic pet industry. I think we all could learn a lot. Perhaps add a forum on Entomology with sub forums of: edible, non edible, poisonous, beneficial, with special forums on bees, butterflies, and other pollinators. Plus we need forums on...

Good Morning All, Couple of ?'s here. I candled last night and could see developing air sacs and movement in all but 2 eggs. Being my first time doing this it seems like the movement is probably a good sign? The eggs are so thick that I can't make out a whole lot else. Do I need to candle one...

Well I tried to catch up on the 400 or so posts I've missed but have given up. The last pages I was on were is where chicks among us had put the smack down on a hawk. Now I know why they say don't mess with texas. I was impressed. Good Job

I didn't see where the paper was necessary in the instructions, I saw it in there but didn't think it was necessary unless the humidity is real low. Did I miss something or is there a trick to it?

Set 28 Just filled out the form. Didn't adjust thermostat cause I had a 99.5 reading at the bottom of the tray so I'm hoping the Eco 20's thermometer is just a tad warm.

It took me a few minutes but I remembered SuperChemicalGirl had a lot of input in this thread.

Found it! BTW the thermometer in the top says 102, I'm debating on lowering it to 99. Any input on this would be helpful- I'm going to another thread to try and track this down but I'm close to 3 hrs behind schedule but still on track with Mountain Time if I can figure this out.

This thread is exploding faster than I can read. I got the Eco 20 warmed up and ready I think, but I need help with the stacking of eggs in it. Any help on that would be super.

I'll try to find Cox74's post I'm envisioning a small box with a light inside and a hole in the top. I suppose a flouresent light would be best in this application? That's a sweet candler dsqard - if the chick is having trouble coming out of it's shell you can just give it a couple pushes
