Thanksgiving weekend here in Canada!! We are getting our Turkey from the Neighbor on Saturday and were planning on butchering and eating on Sunday... just wondering if there are any health issues or other issues associated with doing this! We could always butcher Saturday when we get it but...
Yeah ... once they have fluffed up and there is no longer a risk of chill we opened the incubator and moved them to the brooder... last year when we ordered chicks from the Hatchery we lost quite a few due to the cool temps ... as it is still cold and drafty here in our barn we have opted to use...
Mixed Breeds... some Cochins, EEs, Leghorns, Buffs. 8 in total hatched and are now fluffy and comfortably in their warm brooder!
We had 9 eggs... i havent given up on the last egg yet... its still in the incubator for 1 more day ... just in case!

We just got an incubator and started 9 eggs (would have been 10 one was dropped!) that may or may not be fertilized... they are from our own hens and roos. they were started on Sat and i have just done my research on candeling so i am good to go there with checking on that as the days...
