Food grade Diatomaceous Earth along with wood ash and sandy soil can be mixed for chickens to dust themselves.

How do I know if she has a clogged vent? I did do the old gloved finger / ky check to check for an egg. Didn't feel anything. She is pooping, but it is very runny.

I've been using DE for fly control. I found some mixed with clay to keep the dust down. It costs a lot - almost 10 dollars for a very small container.

We had no problems in that regard! We purchased nesting boxes at Fleet Farm, and the ladies LOVE them! That's the problem! I'm going to try planting a fake egg in the new box to get them to go in there to lay. It's just WAY too hot in their coop right now. Wish the neighbors hadn't cut back...
