Thanks all! Update: little one is okay... I took advice and added some vitamins to the water and just waited. He/she is still identifiable from a slight limp, but it seems that all will be okay!
I have a new lavender Orpington chick that just hatched and has one weak leg. It let's it drag behind a bit and stumbles some... Very energetic otherwise. Could this possibly be spraddle legs? Any other ideas? I'm really fond of this little guy/gal and would love it help it out!

I'm purchasing some auto sexlinked chickens to turn out as Free range on our 5 acres... The roos I'd like to butcher with the possibility of caponizing and selling the extras. I see that small scale on-farm production (<1000 birds) are exempt from inspection... My only concern is they seem to be...
WONDERFUL NEWS!!!! Oh, thank you so much!!! My little ones are so active and perky I would've hated to think I had done something to harm them! I've farmed for years, but I never learned the art of not getting attached... These boogers are adorable!
Pyxis, just wasnt sure as some people seem to treat it as a vaccine necessary for existence. I didnt want to give them to their new owner if they were going to just get sick and die. I'm new into raising poultry, and feel guilty for not doing it "right".
I just had my first successful hatch and sold the entire clutch... And now I realized I didn't vaccinate for Mareks... I could kick myself!!! The chicks arent a week old, can I still vaccinate? Should I refund the buyer and keep the chicks? Should I cull the lot (really don't like this...
12 out of 13 are out!!! Last one is prob going to get tested later. I had to help the last chick out... It had unzipped but the membrane seemed to have dried a bit to much to make the final push. Fingers crossed it makes it!
So far, there's 5 out. I took a quick second to pull the energetic first 3 out so the others have room (and a bit of peace)... One seems a little weak, trying not get that "underdog" attachment. Does this get easier???
I will bargain!!! And I didn't think about the counting.. So lots of day 20 excitement! The second one that popped through now has a pip hole like I've seen online... So I'm just being a nervous "mom". Just reading the horror stories of hatch fails really puts me on edge a bit.
I've (im)patiently waited in lock down and day 21 is here!!! I woke up to find no pips, but by lunch there's 3 with pretty weak cracks... No obvious break in the membrane, just cracked. Now it's quiet... Wondering if membranes are dry, etc. Is this normal? All the pics on the computer shows...
