I've thought about that and honestly he's not the only one I've seen in pullet bins, I just wasn't in a place to buy more. I live within a half hour of 4 TSCs and 1 Farm and Home store and seen a few in different ISA Brown bins this year alone and I'm pretty sure I'll find the same next year...
I've already asked this once but the more information I read the more I want to know! I saw a post about 3rd generation Isa Browns being White and sweet and 3rd generation BSL chickens being a form of barred and not very nice but I want to know if anybody's crossed the two? I have one Isa Brown...
I had 7 eggs under my broody and they've been growing but 2 days ago she stopped sitting on them and won't go near them. I collected them but I don't have an incubator. Another hen went broody tonight though and if they are still able to be saved I'll put them under her tomorrow. Here's a...
Thank you, after talking to some other byc members earlier and looking up pictures I have learned a lot and I agree with what you said, I'm very sad about it but I can't blame the little chickies for instincts.. I didn't even know that was a chicks instinct, our first round of chicks last year...
I just walked out to feed and water the chicks and found one of our black pullets faced down and buried, literally, the chicks kicked up all of the shavings from one spot and covered her. At first I thought maybe they trampled her to death or something, she was one of the bigger ones though...

Just curious. We have red sex links, black sex links, and possibly amber links. Out of those we have only one Red sex-link rooster, so what would the chicks look like if he mated the black sex links or the amber links?
We tried that but it only seemed to freak him and our dogs out.... my dogs are currently in the other room and aren't very happy that my "top" is chirping... I worry if they start barking again they'll scare the poor baby to death...
On of our little bantams had poo stuck to his butt covering everything and it room quite a few minutes of soaking and gently wiping to get it off and he could finally poo again. Now he is drying inside a dry washcloth inside my shirt. He is drying though he's still not very active he's let out a...
Thank you! I might have to wait till next season. Right now the chick brooder we made is in the in laws garage and they weren't exactly enthusiastic about us getting more chicks lol but if I can find some and convince SO/in laws then I will try to get some! And your silkie is gorgeous! If I can...
